His background is that of a long and distinguished career acting as General Counsel representing various leading International Oil Companies. He has a profound understanding of the oil & gas industry from the negotiation phase to the management of the petroleum agreements, including the resolution of disputes, both commercial and investor state. This informs his work as arbitrator, including presiding arbitrator. He is particularly skilled at mediating settlements of highly complex disputes.
